The show is a suite of seven 4’ x 4’ oil on canvas paintings, revealing portraits of young urbanites. Although anonymous — or perhaps because of it — these portraits render visible the strength and vulnerability of self-pleasure and the exploration of one’s identity.
DeWitt Cheng’s review of “Bedroom Floor, Kitchen Counter,” the artist’s most recent solo show in 2011, spoke of Furry as one who “balances the contradictory elements of Warholian irony, Oldenburgian humor, and Thiebaudian celebration.”
