Show and Tell Concept Shop is proud to bring together celebrated Masculine of Center photographers Miki Vargas and Meg Allen to present Boi/Butch: Portraits of Masculine of Center Identity. On Wednesday June 25th we will celebrate the opening of this dynamic photography exhibition and kick off QUEERY, a 9-week exploration and celebration of Queer community and identity.
Boi/Butch: Portraits of Masculine of Center Identity will showcase the latest portraits from Vargas’ For The Love Of Bois Project and Allen’s Butch. This is the first time these two projects will be seen side by side. The exhibition will run from June 25th- August 31st, 2014.
For the Love of Bois, started in 2012 by Miki Vargas Photography, focuses on capturing and celebrating the beauty of masculine of center individuals ("Masculine of center (MOC) is a term, that recognizes the breadth and depth of identity for lesbian/queer/ womyn who tilt toward the masculine side of the gender scale and includes a wide range of identities such as butch, stud, aggressive/AG, dom, macha, tomboi, trans-masculine etc.") - BBP.
BUTCH started in 2013 by Meg Allen Studio is an environmental portraiture project and exploration of the butch aesthetic, identity and presentation of female masculinity. It is a celebration of those who dwell outside of the stringent social binary that separates the sexes and a glimpse into the private and often unseen spaces of people who exude their authentic sense of self.
