“Summer Pops! Road to Pride” features the joys, pitfalls, and adventure of travel. Included are songs about flying, songs about trains and public transportation, songs about Oakland, Sondheim’s “Another Hundred People,” and an original work by chorister Jeff Becker. We also throw in a little about other life journeys with songs that give you a taste of the heartbreak, exuberance, and daily life of what it means to be gay in the East Bay and how it feels to come out at different stage...

The musical styles of this program range from Frank Sinatra swing to Asian language songs. There are fully choreographed, hilarious small ensembles, and fabulous soloists.
The Aug 16, 7pm, program at Regent’s Theater will be the farewell performance for interim Artistic Director, Stephanie Lynne Smith.
