Benefit Fundraiser for Our Space

We are back at it again folks! In April of 2014 Follies and Dollies A Gender Queer Variety Drag Show teamed up with Debauchery, and Rebel Kings of Oakland, for a common cause, our youth, in particular, Our Space - where it is safe to be yourself. Our Space is not heavily funded by grants, most of the funds that go into Our Space are through donors, like you and me. In partnership with LGBTQ youth, adults and allies, Our Space creates safe and affirming space where LGBTQ youth can socialize, build community, develop leadership skills and access culturally relevant mental health services. Our Space holds the experiences, strengths and needs of youth impacted by poverty, homelessness and the child welfare and juvenile justice systems at its core, and recognizes these youth as fierce and fabulous change-agents in our communities. Our Space envisions a diverse society where LGBTQ youth are embraced for who they are and supported and celebrated as leaders in their communities. They use holistic approaches to support LGBTQ youth in building a foundation of self-reliance, self-esteem, and self-confidence to promote individual and community based sustainability. At its heart, Our Space envisions a world where LGBTQ youth are empowered to show fierce love for themselves and their communities.
