"The purpose of this workshop is to provide the fundamentals needed to understand what it means to transgress the gender binary and how to be an ally to those who fall outside the male/female or man/woman spectrum. This includes being able to adopt a gender neutral, non-cisgender, non-binary way of thinking and approaching others."
NOTE: this workshop is designed for those who already have a basic background surrounding queerness, gender, and non-cisheteronormative identities (i.e. NOT a Trans 101 workshop).
Desserts (vegan & gf options) & refreshments will be provided!
**ADA accessible. Please contact wiloutreach@bsc.coop or Kiana at 310.613.8053 for more information.**
"Marisa focuses on advocating for the LGBT communities, empowering women, practicing anti-racist activism as a white person, supporting global justice and empowering youth. Also, as a genderqueer, transgender person living with chronic pain Marisa is very interested in the body: what it means to us individually and the expectations we, and others, place on it."
