FREE!! FREELY CELEBRATE your OAKLAND LGBTQIA2S + ALLY PRIDE! SEPT. 9, 2017 Bring your friends and family to the 3rd Annual 5k/10k OAKLAND PRIDE FUN RUN! For ALL THE PEOPLE - BY THE PEOPLE! RUN, JOG, WALK to Celebrate our LGBTQIA2S+ Pride, Unity and Solidarity while raising awareness for local not-for-profit LGBTQ wellness organizations! Don your cape! Unleash your Inner Super Hero! The theme for the race is “Super Queeroes UNITE!” Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite hero, real or imaginary, in celebration of the virtues, values, inspiration, or simply the sheer enjoyment that comes from having your own favorite LGBTQIA2S+ crusader. Sport your most outrageous crime fighting attire and unleash your inner superhero or feel free to come as your mild mannered secret identity. We won't tell! Form A Team! For extra fun, form a team with friends and family, co-workers, and neighbors! In addition to the 1st, 2nd + 3rd place winner medals, there will be a medal for best team and individual costume. Youth participating in the Kids Fun Run/Walk will receive a participant medal! OR COME and CHEER on your fellow super queeroes! Join your family and friends to run, jog, and even walk through the historic tree-lined 5k/10k, scenic Lake Merritt course. The 5k/10k Oakland Pride FUN RUN! is an annual fun fitness event to support wellness and connect our community to healthy resources. Join us for the PARTY after the race for the award ceremony, music, vendors, wellness providers, a superhero meet & greet, performances, a QT fashion show and more! Event Schedule The 5k/10k run will start at 8:30AM, check in will begin at 7:30 AM. The route includes SUPER HERO STATIONS! This run will be micro-chipped to give every runner a super accurate time.
