CALLING ALL BLACK QUEER & TRANS WRITERS!!!!
Are you looking to expand your community of Queer & Trans Black Writers? A space to learn and practice new writing styles, crafts, and techniques?
An opportunity to receive feedback from other Queer Black Writers on pieces you're working on - and to share some of your own genius as well?
And a regular chance to share your writing, for the sole sake of sharing and connecting?
If so, please join us on February 20th, at 1 P.M., for Calling On Spirit - a Queer & Trans, Black Writing Group. After our first session, we will meet biweekly on Saturdays, from 1pm to 4pm, at Qulture Collective (1714 Franklin Street) in Oakland.
As it will be our first session together, we'll spend this time talking about the intentions for the group, getting to know each other, working on a prompt or two, and - of course - sharing some of our work.
Please bring:
- Something to write with
- A small donation for the space ($5 suggested donation, but no one turned away)
- Snacks for yourself (or to share) if you desire
Access is love: Please keep it scent-free so everybody can show up and not have to leave due to chemical injury! This means eaving off perfume, cologne, essential oils and using frag-free detergent on your clothes helps a lot. Culture Collective is wheelchair accessible, including bathrooms!
Looking forward to being in community and creating with you!
